Muscle Building Workout Over Age 40 by Rocko Sanders
If you’re over 40 years old and you want to begin weight training there are things you need to do to start Building Muscle that will help guarantee that you can reach your goals. With old age comes change and with change comes the realization that we can’t do the things we did as youngsters. It becomes harder to recover from our workouts because of our sluggish metabolism.Just because we aren’t as young as we once were doesn’t necessarily mean we shouldn’t start a muscle building workout program. It does mean that getting into shape and building muscle must be approached from a different perspective.
Diet
All things being equal our diet is the first thing we need to consider changing. As a direct result of the foods we eat our health can seriously suffer. If we continue to eat high fat low nutrient foods our bodies won’t have the energy we need to fuel our muscle building workout It can’t be any easier. Stop eating the processed low nutrient foods. Your body will be healthier and respond favorably by eating your veggies and fresh fruit. This common sense approach to eating will continue to keep you healthy for a long time to come

Warm up Exercises
When you begin to start Weight Lifting it is critical to start slowly. Any Muscle Building Routines must include plenty of warm up time and plenty of rest time. A warm up of 15 minutes is a good way to help avoid injuries. I prefer to stretch and then do some cardio to really warm my muscles up. In order for your body to recover you must get adequate rest after your workout. We aren’t young anymore and our bodies can’t handle going out and having fun to all hours of the night. These are facts we have to live with if we are going to be productive.
My muscle building workout would include executing exercises that workout the entire body instead of just separate body parts. I prefer to use machines and body weight exercises because I feel it gives me the best chance of success without fear of injuring myself. The shape you are in will determine whether you will use free weights or machines. If you are at ease with using free weights then by all means go ahead and do it. Working out three times a week is a good way to begin your weight lifting program. Cardio is a productive way to use your off days to help your progress. Even if your cardio workout means just taking an extended walk, it is a walk that is taking you off the couch and headed in the right direction.
Take A Picture
Do you need a great incentive? A before and after photo is a great way to see your progress. Keep these as a reminder of where you were and where you are heading. This will motivate the people you love to get into shape as well. The transformation will excite you when you see the change you have made in such a short period of time. If you stick to it and stay motivated you can modify your body for the better.
Your overall body type will decide the program you will use. I use a fat burning muscle building workout program because it works for me and it is very affordable. At 40 years of age I am in the best shape of my life. You can do it there is nothing stopping you.
